Every so often we want to send a small gift, a token, a package to a friend in another city but could do without the hassle of visiting the post office or Fedex to drop off the item. And if you are expecting a package from your mom, do you really want to deal with those stickers on your door telling you that a package is waiting for you a nearby pickup location?
Lug-it is an intent based shipping service. It builds you a peer-to-peer package delivery system on top of your extended social network. As long as someone in your social network is willing to carry a package for you, you can send or receive items to/from anywhere in the world.
Once you sign in via FaceBook, you can post ads for packages you want to send OR trips you will be taking where you can carry packages for others. Your ads can be viewed by anyone who is linked to you socially by any degree of separation. Senders and carriers can contact each other via email.

The founders of Lug-It, Chetan and Sai, have known each other since their halcyon days in Bangalore. They got their Bachelor of Engineering degrees at PESIT. Their first collaboration was JAGGED - a short lived but much loved college rag. Lug-It is their first joint venture in the startup space.
